PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO SEE THE HISTORY OF OUR COMPANY

In 2008, Modern Kosa decided to go commercial in automobile manufacturing, assembling and sales. Aware of the complexities in the automotive industry with regards to adherence to stricter manufacturing standards, intra and inter sector relationships, the dynamics of the market development and the highly diversified nature and composition of the components sector, Modern Kosa collaborated with China Big Science and Technology Development (Group) Company Limited for the development of a turnkey Vehicle Assembly facility to assemble vehicles in Ghana.

The facility commenced operations with the assembly of Completely Knock Down (CKDs) parts with a firm plan of producing 75% of the components in Ghana within the first five years of operation, except the complete engine. The company intended to start the manufacturing of commercialized complete engines locally within seven years in line with the vision of the company to transfer technology and to develop local capacity and expertise in the Ghanaian automotive industry.
